Volunteering and board
Volunteering at NBIS is not only a fun way to meet people and get involved in your community, but also an opportunity to learn new skills and gain a better understanding of  issues affecting people with brain injury.

We are always interested to hear from people wishing to share their interests, talents, skills and abilities with us. Present and previous volunteers enrich our society in many ways, for example by assisting in support groups, making art, raising funds, using the computers and organizing events to name but a few.

For those with an interest in governance and community development, sitting on our Board of Directors can be a very rewarding experience. Again, our current board is comprised of volunteers from many walks of life, from brain injury survivors, to community members, to retired teachers, to finance professionals. For an informal conversation about any of these ways of volunteering, call 250-753-5600 or submit one of the  forms included at the bottom of this page.

Members are kept informed about events and happenings throughout the year, and receive a complimentary copy of our newsletter once a quarter. Most important though, our members form a broad base of support that validates the importance of understanding brain injury and its prevention.
